A fabricator of precision metal products with in-house plating, painting and electrocoating capability operates 10 vibratory machines. Hard water was causing its flow meters and solution lines to clog, and the resulting downtime was costly: clean-up was needed twice a week, and at the shop rate of $75/hr., that meant $1200 went down the drain (literally) every month.
A standard, proven cleaner technology, VBS 171, was reformulated to compensate for the hard water. VBS 171 was developed by Finishing Technology Inc., a manufacturer of vibratory compounds and other mass finishing products. Calcium build-up on flowmeters is now a thing of the past. The product has also proven ideal for other locations where high levels of carbonates in the soil pose this same issue for local industry.
