Castrol Wind Turbine Lubricants

Castrol Optigear Synthetic X320 is a fully synthetic gear oil for cylindrical, bevel gears and planetary gears,
for the main gear of wind power plants, and for oil-lubricated rolling bearings.

Investigations on roller bearing test stands show that Optigear Synthetic X provides outstanding wear protection.
It has an extremely low tendency to form aggressive, insoluble aging products. It is widely recommended by
leading bearings manufacturers for the lubrication of wind turbine gears.

Castrol Optigear Synthetic X is based on synthetic hydrocarbons and a special plastic deformation (PD) and
surface improvement additive package.

The additive package, when activated by high specific loads and corresponding temperatures, helps to equalize
surface roughness without creating abrasion leading to the surface improvement (plastic deformation.)

Depending on the application, Optigear Synthetic X has an operating temperature range from
-22°F to +200°F (-30°C to +95°C.)
